Very special thanks for the first photo of Gnathophyllum circellum to Mickey Charteris, who apend more than 20 years at Roatán, Honduras.
If you like to know more about the marine life around Roatán / Honduras and the Caribbean, please visit Mickey Charteris homepage Caribbean Reef Life: https://www.caribbeanreeflife.com/updates--errata.html
Mickey informed, that the Circled Bumblebee Shrimps seem to hide around Tiger Tail Sea Cucumbers, this information coincides with a short report by Anna & Ned DeLoach on their homepage "The BlennyWatcher", according to which the bumblebee shrimp feed on the tube feet of echinoderms such as sea cucumbers, urchins and starfishs:
A great size comparison between Gnathophyllum circellum and Gnathophyllum americanum can be found on the site of Ellen Muller, who lives in the Netherlands Antilles: https://pbase.com/imagine/image/159562633
Very special thanks to Ellen Muller (Netherlands Antilles) too, she reports that Gnathophyllum circellum can often be found in association with tiger-tailed sea cucumbers (Holothuria thomasi) in the southern Caribbean.
