Info

Eviota singula Greenfield & Winterbottom, 2016
One-spot dwarfgoby

Eviota is a genus of fish in the family Gobiidae, commonly as dwarfgobies found in the Indo-Pacific region, where it is distributed from Japan to Australia and from Africa to Pitcairn Island.
Inhabits rocky and coral reefs.

Main reference: Greenfield, D.W. and R. Winterbottom, 2016. Three new dwarfgobies from the western Pacific Ocean (Teleostei: Gobiidae: Eviota). J. Ocean Sci. Found. 22:28-40. (Ref. 109221)

Jumping guard
A jumping guard prevents (nocturnal) fish from jumping out.
Wrasses, blennies, hawkfishs and gobies jump out of an unprotected tank in fright if their night rest is disturbed, unfortunately these jumpers are found dried up in the morning on carpets, glass edges or later behind the tank.

A small night light also helps, as it provides the fish with a means of orientation in the dark!
