Lagis australis (Ehlers, 1904)
Pectinariidae is a family of marine polychaete worms. Commonly known as the the trumpet worms or ice cream cone worms. These worms build tubes using grains of sand roughly resembling ice cream cones or trumpets.
Lagis australis can be found intertidally and subtidally on mud and sandflats around New Zealand.
Diet: detritus and algae within the sediments
