Toxicity

This is a general hint!
Aseraggodes bahamondei has a harmful toxin.
As a rule, animals with a harmful poison do not pose mortal danger in normal Aquarieaner everyday life. Read the following husbandry information and comments from aquarists who already keep Aseraggodes bahamondei in their aquarium to get a better picture about the possible danger. However, please be careful when using Aseraggodes bahamondei. Every human reacts differently to poisons.
If you suspect that you have come into contact with the poison, please contact your doctor or the poison emergency call.

Info

Aseraggodes bahamondei inhabits rocky and coarse, sandy substrates near ledges and scree fields as well as sand patches in shallow depressions on vertical rock faces.
The sole can adapt very well to the substrate due to its diverse colour patterns with small and large eye spots.

Caution: The authors of the initial description of the sole refer to the toxicity of the male lactic secretion that this sole excretes when threatened, probably from the small pores under the scales at the edge of the eye side of the body.
This indication is quite justified, as many people like to eat fried roe and milk from fish.

We have no evidence of experience in home tanks.
