Stygnobrotula latebricola Böhlke, 1957

The black brotula is a species of viviparous brotula found in reefs of the western Atlantic Ocean. This species is the only known member of its genus. Body and head are blackish brown in color.

Can be found during the day in shallow caves and crevices. This nocturnal fish feed on small fish and benthic invertebrates.
