Ophiocoma aethiops Lütken, 1859

Ophiocoma is a genus of brittle stars belonging to the family Ophiocomidae.

Ophiocoma aethiops is found in coral reefs particularly in intertidal areas at depths of 0 to 31 m. The Giant Black Brittle Star is a scavenger and opportunistic feeder.
