This crab is known as obligate symbionts of echinoderms Gonatonotus nasutus lives in association with sea urchins, including Eucidaris metularia, Phyllacanthus imperialis, Prionocidaris baculosa, with seastars and holothuroids.

Similar to Gonatonotus granulosus.
