Metapontonia fungiacola Bruce, 1967

Metapontonia fungiacola can be found on the mushroom corals ( Scleractinia , Fungiidae ) where the shrimp hides itself under fold of host tissue.

Metapontonia fungiacola has been found on the following stony corals: Fungia sp., Lithophyllon concinna, Lithophyllon repanda, Herpolitha limax, Goniastrea pectinata, Hydnophora microconos, Platygyra lamellina, Lobophyllia hemprichii, Micromusa sp., Galaxea sp., Symphyllia and other previously unidentified Lobophyllia corals.

Type locality Pamanzi Reef, Mayotte.
