Info
Iphiteon panicea is a massive, flabellate, white, glassy sponge that was attached to a rock.
A white, elongated crustose anemone colony Vitrumanthus schrieri Kise et al., 2022, partially overgrew the surface of the sponge.
Part of this sponge, which had a light yellow color in nature, turned dark purple in alcohol.
The crust anemone Vitrumanthus schrieri (Parazoanthida) was originally described in association with the glass sponge Verrucocoeloidea liberatorii Reiswig & Dohrmann, 2014.
