Info

Neocancilla clathrus (Gmelin, 1791)

Neocancilla clathrus is a marine gastropod belonging to the family Mitridae, commonly known as miters or miter snails.
This miter snail, with black-blue spots on its spiral ribs, is one of the slimmest species that burrows in the sand.

Neocancilla clathrus is carnivorous, preying on and consuming various benthic invertebrates.

In Hawaii, Neocancilla clathrus is considered a non-native marine species, but no ecological impacts from this alien species have been observed.
