Info

Agalma elegans is a fairly small box jellyfish, though the size estimates found online vary considerably:
WoRMS 45 cm
DORIS 120 cm
EOL 26 cm
E-Fauna British Columbia: 30–100 cm

The small size of this species becomes clear when we compare it to the giant box jellyfish Praya dubia, which can reach a total length of 50 meters.

Like many other box jellyfish, Agalma elegans feeds primarily on copepods swimming in the water column.
