The guitarfish are a family, Rhinobatidae, of rays. The guitarfish are known for an elongated body with a flattened head and trunk and small ray like wings.

The southern banded guitarfish (Zapteryx xyster) is a species of fish in the Rhinobatidae family. It is found in Colombia and Panama. Its natural habitat is coral reefs.
