Info

(Jordan & Gilbert, 1882)

Very special thanks for the first Photo of Enneanectes carminalis to Dr. Ross Robertson from Australia.
He has taken the photo a t Mexico.

The Carmine triplefin is endemic and widespread to the Eastern Pacific and is found from central Baja California and the central Gulf of California to Panama.

Adult triplefins inhabit shallow reefs and weedy rocky areas in shallow waters, where they feed on tiny invertebrates and algae.

Axoclinus carminalis (Jordan & Gilbert, 1882)
Enneanectes sexmaculatus (Fowler, 1944)

Jumping guard
A jumping guard prevents (nocturnal) fish from jumping out.
Wrasses, blennies, hawkfishs and gobies jump out of an unprotected tank in fright if their night rest is disturbed, unfortunately these jumpers are found dried up in the morning on carpets, glass edges or later behind the tank.

A small night light also helps, as it provides the fish with a means of orientation in the dark!
