Parablennius cornutus has a scaleless, stocky, brown-marbled body, protruding eyes, and bristles above its eyes.

With its comb-like teeth, it scrapes algae and biofilm off rocks and corals.

For protection, this facultative air-breather seeks out crevices, holes, and empty shells into which it can retreat when danger threatens.
