Very special thanks for the first photo of Serranus socorroensis to Dr. Ross Robertson, Australia, he has taken the photo at Revillagigedo, where this fish lives in Inhabits sand-rubble areas, sandy bottom with scattered rocks and corals, used for shelter in a depht of 5 to 20 (8) meters.

Serranus socorroensis is known only from Socorro Island (Revillagigedo Islands), Mexico.

Socorro serrano species is demersal and inhabits sand-rubble areas around the fringes of rocky reefs, however, its depth range is relatively unknown.
It has been found from 5-20 metren.
Serranus socorroensis feeds on mobile benthic crustaceans, octupus, squid, cuttlefish, and bony fishes.
