Captive breeding / propagation

The offspring of Sclerophytum murale are possible. Unfortunately, the number of offspring is not large enough to cover the demand of the trade. If you are interested in Sclerophytum murale, please ask your dealer for offspring. If you already own Sclerophytum murale, try breeding yourself. This will help to improve the availability of offspring in the trade and to conserve natural stocks.

Info

Sclerophytum murale was first described as Sinularia muralis May, 1899 and is known from Indonesian waters and parts of the Western Indian Ocean, where the soft coral was found on reef slopes.

We are not currently aware of any imports, husbandry experience or offspring of this partially overlapping soft coral.
