Sclerophytum abhishiktae was known as Sinularia abhishiktae for a long time, but is not specifically sold in the specialist trade, although it should be possible to keep this soft coral in a saltwater aquarium.

The surface of the coral is heavily corrugated.

Etymology: The species is named after “Abhishikta”, the daughter of the second author J. E. Vennam.
